Sacrificial

2011 - Available

This doll was influenced by the art and culture of the ancient Aztecs. I imagine that chosen sacrificial victims might have worn magnificent ceremonial masks such as this during ancient rituals of human sacrifice to appease the gods. In turn these deities would maintain the balance of the universe and forestall the end of the world. This Mask of the Apocalypse is a personification of the malevolent deity representing destruction, whose presence signals the end of days.
